I have been passionate about the electricity and energy sector since joining EDF Energy Networks (now UK Power Networks) back in 2005. Within the UK's largest DNO I held exciting jobs across planning and network operations, and also led the domestic and commercial connections business (connecting 14,000 properties a year).

After completing my MBA I got the opportunity to join a fast growing and innovative Independent Connection Provider as Technical Director.  Together with the rest of the executive team we scaled the business through strong and profitable growth - made possible by innovations around customer service and new methodologies.

​

​In 2017 we were getting more and more involved in electric vehicles, so we decided to start up a new, dedicated and stand-alone company to bring some real innovation and forward thinking to EV infrastructure. After writing the business and market entry plan, and with £2m of seed capital I grew the business organically between 2018 and 2022 to a business generating a profitable £20m, connecting hundreds of EV charging hubs as well as 33kV and 132kV solar farms.

​The business was so successful that the shareholder exited in 2023 with a transaction worth £77m. The main driver of the success was the deep understanding of the challenges around the grid and new cutting edge solutions for connecting major infrastructure. 

​

​On the sale of the business in 2023 I brought together a group of industry specialists - all experts and respected in their fields to form UK Networks Services. Together we have expert insight into electrification of industry, heat and transport as well as regulation, safety, business strategy and execution. ​

​

We provide solutions to distribution network operators, industrial energy users and developers who need true independent help, guidance and input on the journey to net zero through electrification.
